Carbon
There are many organizations willing to take your donation and declare you carbon neutral. These groups certainly do good work, but it’s hard to know precisely where your money is going.
The Belwin Conservancy has developed a better way for you to become carbon neutral. Oak savannas are the most endangered natural community in North America with less than 0.1% remaining. Our innovative work restoring oak savannas and prairies has always sequestered carbon. By restoring these native ecosystems, they naturally pull carbon out of the air and hold it.
We have figured out how much carbon we emit when we restore these beautiful native ecosystems to a healthy state. We also have calculated how much carbon these native ecosystems sequester. This means that we can now sequester carbon on your behalf. When you contribute to the Belwin Conservancy's carbon fund, we will restore enough forest and prairie to sequester your carbon.
The benefits to this methodology are huge. Your carbon emissions are offset as they are through other programs, but when you choose to sequester your carbon at the Belwin Conservancy, you will also be protecting biodiversity by helping us to restore endangered native ecosystems. In addition, you will know exactly what your contribution has accomplished and will be able to lay hands on it when you visit us.
Finally, because we’ve cut out the middle-man, the cost for Belwin Conservancy to sequester a ton of carbon is a fraction of the other organizations. With the Belwin Conservancy, you can become carbon neutral for less than half the amount of money others charge.
Belwin looks forward to assisting in combating global climate change. Please make a contribution to our carbon fund today!
