Participate in programs, meet Belwin staff, explore the trails, and connect with nature.

One-Hour Guided Experiences: 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., departing from the Education Center. July topic: Learn about some of Belwin’s oldest prairies from a person closely involved in their restoration on Saturday.

Tara Kelly will be leading a one-hour hike through a few of the first prairies restored at Belwin. Come and learn about these prairie plants and how they became established. Kelly previously worked for Belwin as Director of Ecological Restoration. Today, she is a Landscape Restoration Specialist with the Washington Conservation District.

Tara has been working with NGOs and government agencies in the St Croix Valley for more than 12 years. The focus of her current work is restoring native landscapes and improving sustainability of working lands throughout Washington County.

Guided sun viewing: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Joseph J. Casby Observatory (located next to the Education Center).
