Bison Release

This is last year's Bison Release. For information regarding the 2012 release scheduled for June 16th, please click here.

On June 11th, the Bison Return to the Belwin Conservancy!

Everyone is welcome for this annual celebration and to help welcome the bison back to our prairies.

The Belwin Conservancy hosts a herd of bison on our preserve every summer. While they are here, they reside on a 150-acre restored tallgrass prairie located at our preserve in Afton, Minnesota. The bison add a richness and excitement to the prairie that we sorely miss whenever they leave for the winter. That's why we're so eager to celebrate their return and we hope that you can join us!

There is much more information about the bison, why we have them at the Belwin Conservancy, and how you can visit them at the here.

Event Info

Everyone is welcome at the event but card-carrying 2011 Belwin Conservancy members and new members that Saturday can sign up to take a ride in the Bison Buggy directly following the release! Supporting Members ($100) and above are invited on even more tours on the Bison Buggy throughout the year.

Donate via Network for Good If you've not yet joined the Belwin Conservancy for 2011, you can do so right now including via installment gifts. A monthly donation of as little as $8 will be counted immediately as a Supporting membership! If you donate now, we'll send your card so you have it at the release.
