The 2008 season is just now getting underway at the Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Fields. We had a wet and snowy start to the season, but we are anticipating another great year. Lucy again anticipates hosting over 1,500 games and 70,000 visits.
A complete event schedule for 2008, can be found on the Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Fields page. A highlight for this season will be the St. Croix Cup Soccer Tournament over the weekend of June 6 – 8. Our partner, the Saint Croix Soccer Club, will host over 200 soccer games during those few days.
Over the winter, we continued to raise money for a new facility on site. This building will house a concession stand, restrooms and some much-needed office-space by the soccer fields. To date, Afton, Bayport, Baytown, Lakeland Shores, Lake Saint Croix Beach, Oak Park Heights, Stillwater Township and the Andersen Corporate Foundation have all committed funds to this project. We look forward to an even better Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Fields in the near future.
