Lucy News
We had another wonderful year at Lucy with a record number of games, tournaments and visitors. In April we kicked off the season hosting the US Youth Soccer Minnesota State Cup. Record numbers of kids from 6 to 16 attended the Twins Community Fund baseball Clinic hosted early in May. The kids received the basic lessons in throwing, catching and batting. In June we had incredible weather on back to back weekends and hosted two St. Croix Valley Baseball Association tournaments. The largest event of the year was the St. Croix Cup Soccer Tournament also in June. Ages 9 through 19 were represented in 210 games. Our new building is a fabulous addition to the complex. It was used for registration, referee check-ins, and by tournament officials. All summer long the building also provided welcome shade and shelter. There are currently no restrooms in the building although it’s designed for them. We are continuing to fundraise for these and other improvements and plan to have them available as soon as possible.
We’re just wrapping up the 2009 season now, and are already getting ready for 2010. We want to say ‘thank you’ to all the employees and volunteers who make Lucy such a special place.
